1. Scope and acceptance
These terms govern access to this website and the content made available by MarionetasInc™. Read them before using an interactive service. Where an acceptance control is presented, activating the service after accepting confirms your agreement to these terms. No clause displaces rights or protections that applicable law makes mandatory. The Privacy Policy explains information handling and is not a blanket consent to unrelated data use.
2. Intellectual property
DARK DEAD™, its associated branding, original literary and artistic content, character depictions, illustrations, music, audiovisual materials and original website elements are protected to the extent provided by applicable intellectual-property law. Unless otherwise identified, the relevant rights belong to MarionetasInc™ or the respective rights holders and are reserved. Notices and credits on individual materials remain applicable. Access to a file is not a transfer of ownership or a grant of exploitation rights.
3. Limited permitted access
You may browse the site and use the listening and interactive features made available to you for personal, lawful purposes. Ordinary technical copies necessary for authorized viewing, listening or gameplay are permitted. This limited permission does not authorize commercial republication, merchandising, adaptation, redistribution of source files or presentation as an official partner. A separate written licence is required for uses outside the permission granted here, unless applicable law permits the use.
4. Restrictions and integrity
Without the required permission, you must not reproduce or commercially exploit protected material; remove or falsify rights notices; impersonate MarionetasInc™; create confusion about sponsorship or origin; distribute the game, music or artwork as your own; or systematically extract protected content into a competing collection or training dataset. You must not interfere with the service, introduce harmful code, defeat access controls or access systems without authorization. These provisions remain subject to mandatory legal exceptions and do not prohibit lawful criticism, review or other legally permitted uses.
5. Game and soundtrack
Where a browser demo is available, the permission is limited to the interactive session provided. Availability, content and compatibility may change. Purchasing a book or accessing bonus content does not grant rights to redistribute game files or use characters, artwork or music commercially. Audio starts only through the available controls. Fictional violence and dark themes may be unsuitable for some visitors; use appropriate discretion. The website does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every device.
6. Purchases and external services
This version of the site does not accept orders or payments. An independent retailer or service, reached through an authorized link when one is available, sets its own transaction terms and privacy practices. A link is not a promise of availability or an endorsement of unrelated content. Nothing in these terms limits a consumer right applicable to a transaction.
7. Permissions, reports and enforcement
For commercial permissions or an infringement report, contact licensing@darkdeaduniverse.com. Include the relevant material, its location and your authority to make the request. Where appropriate and lawful, the rights holder may request removal, preserve evidence, suspend access to the relevant service, or seek judicial remedies, including injunctions, damages and eligible costs. Any remedy depends on the applicable law and circumstances.
8. Liability and mandatory protections
The site is provided subject to its actual availability. To the extent permitted by applicable law, MarionetasInc™ is not responsible for losses arising from an independent third-party service, an external network failure or misuse contrary to these terms. Nothing excludes or limits liability where such an exclusion is prohibited, including liability that cannot be excluded under Québec law, or waives mandatory consumer, privacy or other statutory rights. No term requires the visitor to accept unlawful penalties or surrender access to a competent court.
9. Applicable law, changes and contact
Subject to mandatory rules and the rights of consumers to bring proceedings before a competent authority or court, these terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Changes take effect prospectively when posted with an updated date; a material change requiring renewed agreement will be presented before the affected service is used.
