In 2023, writer Diblet Roman disappeared without a trace. Thirty-five unpublished books remained in his apartment. No one could explain where he had gone or why he had left that collection of manuscripts behind.

The room and the Izan markings
Open maps, overlapping papers and a cup remain on the desk. A jacket still hangs over the chair. The Izan emblem appears on the wall and again on the floor, surrounded by markings resembling cuneiform. The image preserves these details; it does not explain who drew them or why.
The dates inscribed on the images belong to the archive. Neither establishes the day of his disappearance on its own. Nor can they settle whether the room holds research, preparations or interrupted work.

The author of DARK DEAD
Shadiery Ino is the main protagonist of DARK DEAD. Diblet Roman is the writer and creator of the work, and also one of the protagonists of his own universe. His presence in the books links the story of his disappearance to the events in his work, leaving open whether he wrote about imagined worlds or places he came to know. His work brings together distant civilizations, conflicts between empires and characters whose survival depends on what they are willing to lose. Shadiery Ino, the Izan and the Black Current hold a central place in that universe.

Shadiery is still waiting
In 2026, three years after his disappearance, a symbolic tomb was erected in his memory. It contained no body.
His partner and friend, Shadiery Ino, preserves his office and belongings. While some have accepted that the writer will never return, she continues to wait. To Shadiery, he is still the friend she never had the chance to say goodbye to.
His body was never found. His death was never confirmed.
And one question persists among his readers:
Were the 35 books his final legacy… or do they contain the instructions for finding him?
His tomb is empty. His stories continue. And Shadiery is still waiting.
